The Early Medieval helmet we offer here is a reconstruction of a transitional form of the closed helmet used by the Crusaders/Templars in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. This type of helmet is considered as a precursor or early form of the Great Helmet, also called bucket helmet or barrel helmet , and is therefore also known in the English-speaking world as the primitive or early great helm/heaume.
This beautiful medieval helmet is made of steel, equipped with a neck protection
slightly flared and decorated with a brass cross and crown. The viewing slots are each about 9.5 cm long, 1 to 3 cm wide and numerous recesses (round holes on one side and a cross on the other) provide the necessary air circulation. The individual parts of the knight's helmet are connected by steel rivets.
The blackened interior is provided
of an adjustable inlay made of brown leather. The chin strap made of 3 mm thick brown leather is adjustable and equipped with a brass buckle (antique finish).
This beautiful, wearable knight helmet will not only make your transformation into a proud knight perfect,
but also offers itself excellently as a decorative addition to every helmet collector's treasure trove.
