suitable for exhibition fights -
In the style of a Spangenhelm from the Vendel era, we have developed this spectacle helmet that is fully suitable for battlefields. It is suitable for reenactments from around 550 AD to the Viking Age (late 1066). The helmet shell consists of two 1.6 mm thick welded sheet metal pieces, which are reinforced by the overlapping riveted iron bands (clasps).
The goggles, which are hand-made from two sheets of steel, reach well below the wearer's nose. They are also riveted to the helmet.
The chain tube made of non-riveted spring steel rings (inner diameter 8 mm) is attached to it and to the rim of the hull.
The helmet has a very high quality, riveted, adjustable upholstery liner, along with a heavy duty leather chin strap and brass buckle.
He is, for example, for hard recreations like the Battle of the Nations designed
Numerous artefacts, jewellery, weapons and armour have been preserved from the Vendel period, a time preceding the Viking Age. Well-known are the finds of helmets from Valsgá¤rde, on which our combat-ready reconstruction is based.
This helmet model is available in sizes M and L.
