The straight-cut shirt is a classic of medieval clothing and can be used in many ways, for example as a craftsman's or knight's shirt. It has a collar and a wide, double-shoulder yoke. The neckline and cuffs are fitted with wooden buttons. The back is cut a little longer so that it does not slip out of the craftsman's trousers while he is working.
The shirt can be worn as a shirt or as a body shirt.
Historically, shirts did not become fashionable until the late Middle Ages, when trousers became tighter and blouses shorter. They became indispensable in the Renaissance.
