Chain leg warmers , made of spring steel, 8 mm, untreated, suitable for combat displays, the leg warmers
Chain leg warmers, also called chausses , were used as leg protection in the late Middle Ages. Often plate parts were still worn over it, so that the chain armour was only supposed to protect the free places. In contrast to the relatively stiff Ulfberth® chain leg warmers, they are supplied as a pair. They are now available in almost all types of fabric. They can be attached individually, e.g. B. with wire, leather nests or cords and/or with leather straps. However, these are not included in the scope of delivery. Another way of attaching them is to sew them onto existing (leather) trousers. Chain leg warmers, by the way - plate armour , are much more flexible and adapt much better to the body shape.
This unriveted chain ring braid is made of high-quality spring steel. Due to its good price-performance ratio, it is ideal for beginners who still value good protection and solid quality. The braiding is 4 in 1.
We call this type of braiding BTW (English = B utted T ensile W IRE). The rings are untreated, so they can rust, but they give the braiding an authentic look Details: - Material: spring steel - Length: approx. .118 cm - Upper width: approx. 60 cm - Bottom width: approx. 46 cm - Inner diameter: approx. 8 mm - Ring thickness: approx. 1.6 mm - Weight (per pair): approx. 6.4 kg - Finish: untreated (lightly oiled)
