This Viking axe head is based on an original from the collection of the National Museum of Norway, Oslo. Petersen has categorised it as a type D. These axes were used in Scandinavia in the 9th-10th centuries and in the British Isles until the 16th century. The axe head is made of carbon steel with a hardness of 48 HRC. The edge is blunt.

Approximate weight: 500gCarbon steel is untreated so it may have rust, which is easily removable. You can protect this item from rust with synthetic or mineral oil. Claims due to this reason will not be accepted.
