Halberd Head - Guja 1350-1400
The glaive is undoubtedly one of the most versatile weapons of the Late Middle Ages. Although the model presented here corresponds to the second half of the 14th century, this same form was maintained throughout the 15th and early 16th centuries, with more complex models also being developed. It is a multipurpose polearm, which has a spearhead, a cutting head and a "breastplate" or rear spike, being practically the middle point between the double-armed weapon and the halberd. Given the simplicity of its design and use, very useful in close formation, it was one of the most popular weapons among the infantry, used by both men-at-arms and urban militias between the 14th and 16th centuries.
