This is a very large plaid that can be used in different ways.
It can be tied around the waist as a so-called belted plaid (predecessor of today's kilt), draped over the shoulder as a fly plaid (similar to a sash), or simply worn as a voluminous scarf.

Two of the fabric edges have the edge of
traditional weaving and the other two edges have fringes.
