The axe blade is based on the 13th-14th century berdiche. Pole axes such as this were used in peacetime as agricultural tools. In wartime they were (usually mounted on a long shaft) made a formidable weapon.
The berdiche remained in use (especially in the regions of Russia) until the 19th century.

Inner socket (handle): 27.5mm - 28.5mmCarbon steel is untreated so it may have rust, which is easily removable. You can protect this item from rust with synthetic or mineral oil. Claims due to this reason will not be accepted.
