This replica of an early medieval lamellar armour with full shoulder/arm and back protection is made of leather and 1.25mm thick "D" steel scales. On one side, the armour is fitted with three adjustable leather straps with bronze buckles.
The finds from Birka and Visby (Sweden) show that this type of armour was quite popular among northern Germans during the Viking Age. But scale armour continued to be used well into the Middle Ages, as demonstrated by finds from the Battle of Visby in 1361 AD.
