Small complementary shields such as this buckler type were used throughout Europe during the late medieval and Renaissance periods. Our swordsman's shield is hand forged from steel and has a 13cm central bowl along with six raised shafts marking a sunburst design. The front face has been given a decorative acid bath, giving the shield an additional ornamental finish. A generous wood-covered metal handle gives you a secure grip in any confrontation with the enemy.
