The tip of the African Congo spear is made of forged 1045 carbon steel, which has also been heat-treated. The blade is hand-sharpened. The natural forgings give the blade a rustic and natural look. The blade has been specially treated to protect it against rust. The ash handle is very durable and gives the spear an antique look.
