Wooden practice weapons could withstand the hard wear and tear while preserving the steel weapons for future battles. A wooden sword was also useful for another reason: if it made contact with another person, it would not seriously injure them as it would if they practiced with a steel sword. This, combined with the wear and tear of the valuable steel blades, made wooden swords indispensable tools for teaching fencing.

Our practice weapons are handcrafted from sturdy hardwood, fully seasoned. With the contrasting wooden guard and pommel, they are strong enough to meet the needs of the swordsman. The design of the sword represents the most representative edged weapons from the 12th to the 15th century.
