Intimidation. This is your primary form of weaponry while facing off against heroes, because it gives you complete control. When your enemies fear you, they are more likely to make fatal mistakes.

Your Dark Drake armor is as dark as your intentions, hardened by the evil magic provided by your minions. As you draw back your sword, sizing up the trembling soldier who feels brave enough to face you, you begin to laugh. This will be a very short fight, if you can even call it that. The little man seems barely strong enough to hold his hammer.

DETAILS

The Dark Drake Arm Guard from Epic Armoury is a set of steel bracers designed to protect the forearms in combat. Rounded at the edges and decorated with scale-like ridges, these bracers are designed to sit comfortably on the forearm, reaching up from the elbow and narrowing at the wrists. Secure this armour with a top-grain leather strap below the elbow and another above the wrist.

The Dark Drake Arm Guard is designed to match Epic Armoury's Dark Drake Armour but is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products giving you the freedom to customise your character's costume. Made from 1mm thick galvanised mild steel and top grain leather straps and fittings, this piece of armour is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or re-enactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Available in medium and large sizes.

HISTORY

• Contrary to popular belief, arm protection was only called a "brace" if it was meant to protect an archer's forearm. Actual forearm protection like this would have been called a "vambrace" or "forearm guard"
• Plate armour became more popular as firearms technology became more prevalent during the 13th century.
• Historically designed with sculpted ridges to provide reinforced protection and deflect attacks on a chaotic battlefield
