Leaning on your spear and adjusting your kettle hat, you stifle an exhausted yawn. You’re prepared to wait and watch for hours, but that doesn’t make you miss your bed any less. Some coffee would be much appreciated.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury's Kettle Hat is a steel helmet inspired by the infantry armour worn during the Middle Ages. The brim of the Kettle Hat is wide and sloped to protect the head and face from weapons, projectiles and the sun. Wear this helmet with a metal coif for additional neck and cheek protection.

Secure the kettle hat by tightening the leather strap under the chin, keeping the helmet in place. Made from 1mm thick mild steel and top grain leather straps and fittings, this piece of armour is designed to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular care of leather and metal armour.

Available in medium and large sizes.

HISTORY

• Typically made of steel and commonly used by infantry throughout medieval Europe
• Also known as Eisenhut and Chapeau de Fer
• Called called for its resemblance to a pot
• It provided the added benefit of protecting the eyes from sunlight.
