1723805202 Hundsgugel helmet, 2 mm steel

The Hundsgugel is the preferred helmet form among the noblest knights, its characteristic visor design helped this helmet to its name Hundsgugel (= dog hood / dog's head) and to its wide distribution throughout Central Europe.

The original of our fully battle-ready replicas was probably around 1400/1410 in northern Milan, Italy, with 2mm thick hand-made, riveted and welded steel plate, ensuring due to its robustness good protection during battle reenactment.
The helmet has an articulated visor and two equally hinged neck supports with padded fabric and a leather chin strap.
