The burgonet (also called Burgonet) was developed from the Schaller in the early 16th century. Another name is also the Burgundian Schaller. The balaclava experienced particular obesity initially in infantry soldiers. B. Landsknecht pikemen, but later also in light cavalry and advanced in Europe, probably the most widely used type of helmet of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Our reconstruction has the typical, pronounced helmet crest. The cheek plates are movable and even removable due to removable cotter pins.
The helmet is supplied with collars: a genuine closed but foldable version and a rigid SCA-compatible version with mesh. Of course, it can also be used without collars if a wider field of vision is required.
The helmet has a comfortable leather inlay and chin strap.
