Roman 'Burgh Castle' spangular helmet A solid reproduction of a late Roman helmet found in the ancient Roman Castell Gariannonum, now Burgh Castle Norfolk, England in 1960. It is a helmet of the Roman infantry, who were already fighting the invading Saxons in this area in the 3rd century.
A very typical helmet from this transitional period between late antiquity and the early Middle Ages. The helmet is made up of four segments, which are connected by a clasp and matched together. It has the movable cheek and neck flaps lined with leather on the inside and at the edge, and has a short riveted nasal nosepiece. Just like its original, it is hand-made and riveted with bronze rivets.
The helmet has a comfortable leather inlay. The cheek flaps can be combined with a leather strap to match.
