Following the usual helmet form of the late imperial period, the Berkasovo helmet (Serbia today) is distinguished by its very rich decoration with precious stones, and gold and silver applications. The many elements explain its high weight: more than 4 kg. The rich ornaments indicate a wearer of the highest official rank at that time.
Our helmet has a sewn inlay made of red leather. The trims are made of glass. The helmet is padded both on the cheek flaps and on the neck guard.
