In 1859 (North Yorkshire) a Viking hoard was discovered in the northern English village of Goldsborough. The Vorlagefur fibula was among them, and other fragments of garment needles and 39 coins from the period between 700-1050 AD.
The find is one of the largest in England and is now kept at the British Museum in London.
The original is made of silver. Since the needle was not on the original, this beautifully crafted bronze replica was added to a matching needle.
