Beautiful Viking clover-shaped brooch modelled as a replica of a robe brooch found in Tranby, Norway. Although the original is about 3 cm larger, the replica does not lose its appeal. Stylistically, this 10th century Viking brooch will be classified between the Borre and Jelling styles.
The Borre style followed the Oseberg style in the 9th century and lasted until the mid-10th century. The early medieval Borre (or Greifenier) style is named after the Norwegian Borre. Animal and knot ornaments are hallmarks of this style, which was later superseded by the Jelling style.
The Jelling style (or Jellinge style) or the so-called Old Jelling style, is one of the artistic styles of the Viking Age.
