1400070400 Jelling style Viking brooch

Spectacular replica of a 10th century oval brooch from Morberg in southern Norway is cast bronze and carefully crafted.

The Schalenfibel (also called tortoise cartilage or humpback fibula) is made in the typical Viking Jelling style. Cup brooches belonged to the Viking women's jewellery and were worn in pairs as an accessory to the dress and apron on the shoulders.
On the back there is a strong needle to securely attach the brooch to the garment.
