German James Bond semi-automatic pistol, 1277 Non-functional replica

It is a German-made pistol made famous by the fictional character James Bond, who has used it in many of his films. It is also the weapon used by Holly Hunter in her role as detective MJ in Copycat.

Its name comes from the German "Polizei pistole Kriminal". However, it is known by its initials.

The pistol was introduced in 1929 in Germany for the secret police. In 1931, an even shorter version appeared. It is also known as the weapon used by Adolf Hitler to commit suicide. After World War II, it was the favourite of Western secret services. Its discreet and comfortable size, low recoil and safe mechanism made it popular throughout the 20th century among civilian users.
