The Roman Subarmalia is a padded garment worn like the medieval Gambeson under armour (Lorica Hamata or Segmentata).
The Subarmalia offers the wearer of Roman chain and plate armour much improved wearing comfort.
Our Subarmalia has sewn and quilted stripes (lat. Pteryges), which form the typical apron.
