Impressive replica of a French dagger pistol from the 18th century. It is made in Spain in wood and metal. It measures 38 cm.
Flintlock pistols, one of the most commonly used firearms by pirates in the 18th century, had a flint stone which, when the hammer was pressed, produced a spark that ignited the gunpowder. All of these pistols required manual reloading of their ammunition after each shot. The ammunition, which was introduced through the muzzle, consisted of gunpowder, a projectile and a paper wad, which served as a stopper to keep the two previous ones compressed inside the barrel.
In combat, these weapons were generally used for a single shot, since the method of reloading was very slow and there was usually no time to reload it. Therefore, after firing, combatants were forced to draw their sabres or swords or use the dagger of the pistol, since circumstances did not allow reloading it in time.
This gun is made in Spain by Denix with quality metal and wood.
