The Parabellum or Model 1908 (P08) pistol, popularly known as the Luger, is a recoil-operated semi-automatic pistol that survived the restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles. It uses an internal slide, operated by a hinged arm, as opposed to an external slide. common in almost all other semi-automatic pistols.
It was designed by Georg Luger in 1898 and produced by the German arms factory Deutsche WaffenundMunitionsfabriken (DWM) from 1900 onwards. During its years of useful life, the Luger P08 passed through the hands of several manufacturers, who were responsible for producing more than one million units of this legendary pistol that marked a before and after in the history of handguns.
