The Parabellum or Model 1908 (P08) pistol, popularly known as the Luger, is a recoil-operated semi-automatic pistol that survived the restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles. It was designed by Georg Luger in 1898 and produced by the German arms factory Deutsche WaffenundMunitionsfabriken (DWM) from 1900 onwards.
