Impressive replica of a LeMat Confederate Revolver from the Civil War. It is made of metal and is made in Spain.
The LeMat revolver was manufactured from 1856 to 1865, with approximately 5,000 units produced. This revolver was used in the American Civil War and was the favorite of the Confederate cavalry during the Civil War and was considered the most famous muzzle-loading revolver since the American Civil War.
The first models were manufactured by John Krider of Philadelphia. Later, French-made LeMat revolvers were sent to the Confederacy via British forces; their proof markings bore the Birmingham Chamber, leading to the erroneous conclusion that the guns were manufactured in the United Kingdom.
The first models were made of steel, with walnut grips and an octagonal barrel. It was not considered a very precise weapon, although it was deadly at close range. It was manufactured in three versions: Cavalry, Army and Navy.
This weapon is manufactured by Denix in Spain with top quality metal and polymer.
It measures 37 cm
