Spectacular replica of the Baby Philadelphia Derringer Pistol, USA 1850 manufactured by Denix in Spain.
Lincoln and Mary Todd went out to see a performance at Ford's Theatre. The play was Our American Cousin, a musical comedy. As Lincoln sat in the box, John Wilkes Booth, a Maryland actor living in Virginia and a Southern sympathizer, fired a single shot from a round-shot Derringer into the President's head and shouted Sic semper tyrannis! (Thus always to tyrants, the motto of the state of Virginia). Booth leaped from the balcony onto the stage; the audience thought he was bowing as he stood up, but in fact he had broken his leg.
This is a very faithful replica of that deringer, manufactured in Spain by Denix in top quality wood and metal and with great attention to detail.
