The Baroque era is when this sword was developed. They gradually evolved from the mid-17th century from the bulky sword to lighter weapons such as the rapier. This is due to the increasing population growth and lack of space at the time. The sword was generally used by members of the upper class.
This replica of the civilian sword has a triangular cross-section EN45 spring steel blade, which is not sharpened. The curved hand guard is made of brass, with a wooden handle, which is wrapped with brass wire.
The scabbard is made of wood wrapped in leather, with brass-shod support rings and a hook for attaching to a scabbard belt.
