Crossed sword with vagina, octagonal knob, 13th century.
Replica of a high medieval one-handed sword, as used by crusaders of various orders in the Crusades. This sword stands out from the more common round-bladed swords due to the octagonal pommel.
This sword is made exclusively by hand. The well-shaped parry bar and the octagonal pommel are made of iron. The hardened spring steel blade is continuous up to the pommel and is hand-removed there. The handle is wrapped in a leather strap. The blade has a pronounced hollow throat, which gives the sword great elasticity and lightness at the same time. The blade edge is not sharpened.
The sword comes with a very nice wooden leather scabbard with a wooden hanger as a belt loop (for a maximum 5cm wide belt). The scabbard also has a steel blade on the scabbard.
This is the regular version of the cross sword with octagonal pommel. The same sword is also available in a combat-ready version with blunt blade and rounded tip: item no. 0116695506.
