The blade of this Katana is made from hand-forged 1095 carbon steel, meaning it is extremely sharp and precise. Furthermore, the Kobuse section of the blade is made from a hard sheath enclosing a soft heart of low carbon steel, giving the Katana a unique combination of hardness and flexibility. Furthermore, thanks to the clay quenching process applied during firing, the blade features a beautiful original Hamon-line making it unique.

This Katana is also suitable for cutting practice, with a hardness of 60 HRC on the ha and 40 HRC on the mune. The fitting is of high quality and is hand-made with refined gold and silver details. The hilt is made of wood and is complete with the original ray skin (Same). Furthermore, the narrow green silk pack-grip, which has been made in the traditional Katate-Maki-Style, gives the Katana an authentic feel and look. The brass Habaki and the long-ended handle fixed to the hilt with 2 bamboo pins (mekugi) confirm the high quality of the craftsmanship.

The scabbard (saya), made of wood, is decorated with a high quality Sageo (wrapping) and the ends (Koiguchi, Kurigata, and Kojiri) are made of buffalo horn. The Katana also follows the museum originals and fine flower motifs can be seen on the fittings.

This masterpiece of Asian forging has impeccable measurements; with a Tsuba blade length of approximately 71 cm, a total length without sheath of approximately 100 cm, a hilt length of approximately 29 cm and a Sori of approximately 20 mm. The weight without scabbard is around 1000 g and the total weight is approximately 1,300 g.
