The John Lee Golden Flower Wakizashi is a high quality functional sword, hand crafted by skilled Asian swordcraft artisans. The blade is made from hand forged carbon steel and has been hardened in a traditional manner. The blade has been folded 12 times to create an astonishing 8,000 layers and showcase the amazing properties of Damascus.

The sharpened blade has a fuller shape to reduce the weight of the sword, allowing the wielder greater maneuverability during fighting. The hilt, or tsuka, is made of wood and is covered with real fish skin, also known as same. The grip is wrapped in traditional black cotton and decorated with two grip tabs, or menuki.

The hilt is anchored to the bamboo blade by bolts, also known as mekugi, to ensure a secure hold. The scabbard, or saya, is made of wood and the blade has a brass collar, or habaki, to prevent the sword from rattling when stored in the scabbard.
