This project has been brewing for a while now, and we finally have the news confirmed: a new Harry Potter series is in the works!
Warner still has many doubts surrounding this project, which is normal, the mists of mystery keep fans excited. Below we will tell you the details about what we know about this project.
Premiere and series features
We still don't have exact dates for the production of this series, and in fact it's a good thing that they're taking the necessary time to develop it, since the more they work on it, the better the results will be. It's possibly going to be released in 2026, so be patient.
What we do know is that it will not be a low-budget production, but rather it will have an investment comparable to big blockbusters like "Game of Thrones," and this information does not come out of nowhere, but was confirmed by Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO.
We also know that there are several options for showrunner on this project. On the one hand, Tom Moran, known for his work "The Devil's Hour", and Kathleen Jordan, of "Two Very Lost Bullets". Between now and June, they have to finalize the details of the series. (Initially there were other options, such as Francesca Gardiner or Marta Hillier to be part of the creative team, but the list seems to have been reduced to the first two.)
Regarding the cast of the series, we will notice changes and not all the actors are confirmed yet, but we must keep in mind that it is a considerable job, since the series will take more than ten years to finish, in order to be able to represent the seven books. However, the actors from the original films are ruled out.
The adaptation will be one book per season, with the idea of being faithful to the books, but having the possibility of expanding on the details much more by having more scene time.
The fact that it will be a re-adaptation in the form of a series of the same content that already reached theaters years ago has not excited many fans, who were hoping to see the universe expanded into other different stories.
