'The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim' has a release date : Warner has scheduled its exclusive theatrical release for December 13, 2024 in the United States. Although the date for Spanish audiences has not yet been revealed, the hype is only growing.
Synopsis, protagonists and cast
The plot of the film is set 183 years before the events of 'The Two Towers' . It focuses on Helm Hammerhand , also known as the Hammer Hand, a legendary king of Rohan who faces the army of the Duledings of Wulf, Hammel must protect his kingdom. Wulf's hostility stems from a desire for revenge for the death of his father, Freca. The latter, a noble of Rohan, lost his life in a confrontation with Helm during a council. The culmination of this rivalry occurs at Helm's Deep Fortress, a fortification erected by the Gondorians at the end of the Second Age.

'The War of the Rohirrim' is presented as an animated film , which means that the cast is limited to voices. In its English version, the vocal actors include Miranda Otto, who reprises her role as Eowyn, a character she already played in 'The Two Towers' and 'The Return of the King', this time assuming the role of narrator.
'The War of the Rohirrim' is directed by Kenji Kamiyama, an acclaimed Japanese filmmaker with notable works such as 'Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society' and the 'Ultraman' series for Netflix.

As for animation, the studio in charge of bringing this film to life is Sola Entertainment, a Japanese company established in 2009. Its most recognized project to date is 'Blade Runner: Black Lotus'.
The voice cast also includes Brian Cox (Succession) as Helm Hammerhand, Gaia Wise as Helm’s daughter, Luke Pasqualino (Snatch) as Wulf, Laurence Ubong Williams as Helm’s nephew and heir, and Shaun Dooley voicing Freca. Additionally, Lorraine Ashbourne, Yazdan Qafouri, Benjamin Wainwright, Michael Wildman, Jude Akuwudike, Bilal Hasna and Janine Duvitski have all been confirmed to join the cast in yet-to-be-specified roles.
