Measuring approximately 10 x 17 cm, this piece captures the practical elegance of writing instruments used in antiquity and the Middle Ages, when parchment was expensive and wax tablets offered a reusable surface for daily notes, accounts, or calculations.
The hinged wooden case opens to reveal two smooth panels of black wax ready to accept stylus impressions.
