She took a sip of green wine in her room. It had been thoroughly checked for poison, and although its acidic taste was mingled with a hint of the fungus used to brew it, she still enjoyed it. Tonight's drinks would be from the sun-world and were far too sweet for her taste."
Epic Armoury's Eventide Pourpoint sits somewhere between a gambeson and a doublet in the sense that it can be worn with or without armor, and under armor, which would make it much more comfortable. It is made of cotton, cotton padding, and suede pieces in exposed and armored areas, such as the upper and lower arms and the upper chest. It can be adjusted for comfort using the numerous cords, aglets, and eyelets, ensuring it fits you perfectly. Historically, pourpoints were used as a thinner gambeson, although only the poorest soldiers used them as their only armor. Later, they evolved to look more like regular clothing rather than functioning as armor. It takes its visual cues from these historical sources, modern dark elves, and the classic Nordic Svartálfar to bring you a protective and flexible garment.
