Thick Gambeson

It was always possible to thrust the point of a weapon through the rings of a mail shirt or cut it with a good cut. This often drove the damaged rings deep into the wound. Even if the blow did not cut the mail, the blunt trauma alone was enough to break a bone or cause internal damage. A thick, padded garment worn under a mail shirt greatly reduces the risk of such injuries and makes the armour more comfortable to wear. Our gambeson is a type worn from the early Middle Ages onwards. They varied greatly in thickness, from a lightly padded shirt to very stiff, thick garments.

This style can be worn under leotard during training or combat, but can naturally also be used as recreation wear. The gambeson is fastened with five leather cords. Arm movement is greatly enhanced and stiffness mitigated by the open armpits. Thickness 10mm, 8mm when compressed.

You must send the item(s) to us using your own means. Freight collect shipments will not be accepted.

The Customer has the right to withdraw from the order within 14 calendar days of receipt. Outside of this period, revocations will not be accepted for orders, nor for orders for the supply of goods made according to the Customer's specifications or clearly personalized, or that, by their nature, cannot be returned or may deteriorate or expire quickly, etc., that have been unsealed and/or used by the Customer. The Customer must notify THE ENTITY of their withdrawal through the Withdrawal Form (Link to the Document) by email, post, or fax, within this 14-day period. The cost of return shipping will be borne by the Customer. The products must be in the same condition as received, with the original packaging, and must not have been used. The refund will be issued using the same payment method used by the Customer .
