You have commissioned a leather craftsman to create Samurai Armour for you. Before you pay him, you want to be sure that the armour is well made, so you perform a test. With the breastplate properly strapped to your torso, you perform a series of sword exercises, faster than the eye can properly see.

DETAILS
Epic Armoury's Samurai Armor is a leather cuirass designed as part of the Asian universe. Inspired by traditional samurai, this cuirass is a lamellar armor made of long horizontal plates of full grain leather. With attached leather tassets, shoulder guards, and a cotton base, this armor uses overlapping plates to provide protection and excellent mobility. Each plate is laced and fastened with sturdy canvas cords.
This samurai armor has been molded and shaped to feel particularly stiff like steel, yet can be put on as easily as a coat with long, adjustable cotton straps on the flanks. This armor offers great movement on its own or can be worn with chain armor or other leather or metal work from Epic Armour, giving you the freedom to create any samurai-inspired character you desire. With regular leather care, you can expect this samurai armor to last a long time.
Available in Red and Black; and Medium/Large sizes.
HISTORY
- This armor would be considered a type of kiritsuke iyozane dou , or large-scale simulated lamellar armor.
- Considered a type of dou , in Japanese, and was an important component of Japanese armor.
- The thigh guards hanging from the breastplate were called kusazuri
- Shoulder armor was called soda , often made of iron plates and leather.
- It would often have been worn with chain armour (or kusari )
- Long cotton cords would be tied in decorative knots
