July is here, and with it, the return of some of the second seasons of several of the most beloved anime series that were waiting for them, all available on Crunchyroll.
From paranormal stories and romantic comedies to magical battles and college action, the variety of genres promises to captivate all fans.
Below is a list of the dates for the second seasons premiering in July and what you can expect from them.
July 3 – Dandadan

Momo Ayase and Okarun's supernatural rampage triples. Studio Science SARU reaffirms its quality with frenetic visual sequences, graphic parodies, and a transition between comedy, horror, and drama.
This season delves deeper into the background of alien creatures, historical curses, and the emotional evolution of the main couple. The narrative maintains the same intense pace, adds new paranormal confrontations, and explores for the first time the root of the curse that haunts Momo.
More complex emotional dynamics are expected this season due to unexpected personal revelations and unlikely alliances.
July 4 – Call of the Night

The story of Ko Yamamori and the mysterious vampire Nazuna takes an emotional turn with the appearance of new characters such as Kiku Hoshimi (voiced by Rina Sato) and the enigmatic detective Anko.
Fans will be treated to an intense adaptation that concludes the manga's story arcs, which concluded in January 2024.
The sequel promises more intimate rooftop conversations, revelations about Nazuna, and exploration of her desire to become a vampire only if she truly loves Ko.
July 5 – My Dress-Up Darling

Wakana Gojo and Marin Kitagawa return with stories more focused on the creative process of cosplay.
CloverWorks, under the direction of Keisuke Shinohara, is committed to showcasing the technical background: sketches, pattern making, fittings, and textiles. Additionally, a greater presence at conventions, photo shoots with guests, and Gojo's personal evolution under the pressures of design are expected.
The connection between the characters is deepened through scenes that combine romantic tension, public nervousness, and personal discovery.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus

Following the success of Bunny Girl Senpai and the films Dreaming Girl and Sister Venturing Out , this new series will adapt the 13th volume of Hajime Kamoshida's novels, with themes such as parallel universes and time loss.
The series maintains its realistic tone, with emotional magic and introspective twists, exploring family relationships, traumas and ethical dilemmas, deeper in the arc of Mai, Sakuta and Kaede.
July 7 – Grand Blue Dreaming

Iori Kitahara's hilarious college life continues at the diving club.
Produced by ZeroG and Liber, this installment revives the irreverence of its predecessor with crazy scenes, drinking contests, absurd jokes, and unbridled camaraderie.
The underwater animation improves substantially, reinforced by the opening “Seishun Towa” from Shōnan no Kaze and ATARASHII GAKKO!, heralding a season full of laughs and heartwarming moments.
July 8 – A Couple of Cuckoos

The family entanglement of Nagi Umino and Erika Amano, switched at birth, takes a new turn with the arrival of Ai Mochizuki, played by Hina Yomiya, and a script more focused on identity and blood ties.
The Okuruto Noboru studio team offers a more mature and expressive design for family and school settings.
The final theme song, “Anata de Nakucha,” will accompany the emotional tensions and personal adjustments faced by Nagi, Erika, and their families.
July 9 – I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince

The laid-back Prince Lloyd, reincarnated with a clear goal: perfecting magic without heroic urgency, returns with a fun approach.
Directed by Jin Tamamura for Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab, this season introduces new kingdoms, forbidden rituals, and political villains.
Screenwriter Naoki Tozuka balances comedy with spectacular magical duels, while animator Naru Nishikiori and musician RON (formerly OLDCODEX) enhance the audiovisual quality.
July 14 – Sakamoto Days

Sakamoto, the former assassin turned family man, enters a new phase of his domestic life as he faces threats from the underworld.
Premiering on Netflix and Crunchyroll, this season focuses on his criminal past, repressed memories, and internal conflicts that threaten his current life.
Improvised weapons, crazy fights with everyday objects, and choreographed humor define this sequel. It also delves into his family relationships: his wife, his daughter, his role as a protective father, and the memories of a more violent life.
July 19 – Kaiju No. 8

The sequel returns with internal conflicts and moral dilemmas. Kafka Hibino, transforming into a kaiju, must balance his role as a soldier and a monster.
MAPPA promises visual explosions, colossal combat, and narrative tension.
The political structure of the Defense Forces, new factions, and the pasts of supporting characters like Mina and Kikoru are revealed.
The direction promises more high-impact fights, heroic sacrifices, civilian lives at risk, and themes of belonging and identity.
July 2025 will be a crucial year for anime on Crunchyroll: second seasons that aim to surpass their predecessors in animation quality, character development, setting, and narrative proposals are ready to premiere.
