Discover the beautiful Vendelzeit Sword with tinned brass hilt and scabbard included
If you are a fan of Scandinavian culture and history, the Vendelzeit Sword is a must-have addition to your collection. This sword is a faithful reconstruction of a ship grave found in a ship cemetery near Uppsala, Sweden. This beautiful sword was, at one time, the elegant and prestigious weapon of a prince, nobleman or elite warrior of the Swedish tribe. It is believed to have been used during the 7th and 8th centuries, making it a true gem of the Vendelzeit era.
The Vendelzeit Sword is a one-handed sword of classic Nordic design. Its double-edged, wider blade is made of high-quality EN45 spring steel. Although its edges are not sharpened, the sword is very realistic in its design, as it faithfully follows the style and craftsmanship of the Vendelzeit era.
The approximately 9 cm long and 1.5 cm thick cross guard is a highlight in its design. In addition, the hilt of the sword offers intricately engraved patterns and motifs, which shows the quality of craftsmanship of the time. The hilt is made of high-quality brass and is tin-plated to give it a silvery look. The antique-finished brass details create a striking effect on the sword and make every detail of the sword perfect. The handle section with a wooden core is bound with brown leather.
The Vendelzeit Sword comes with a beautiful brown leather and wood scabbard which has a wooden belt loop. The maximum belt width should be 5 cm. It also includes a mouth guard and a tinned brass cape.
It is important to note that the Vendelzeit Sword is not suitable for display combat. It is designed to be used as a collector's item, decorative item and accessory to complete a costume.
In our shop you can also find a Damascus steel version of this sword (item number 0116041101).
