Katana Odachi

Odachi katanas, also known as Nodachi, are large Japanese swords designed for use by foot warriors. These swords, which can reach lengths of up to 150 cm, were primarily used on the battlefield during the Kamakura (1185-1333) and Muromachi (1336-1573) periods. Their size and weight required great dexterity and strength, making them less common but impressively effective.

Of course, in addition to Odachi Katanas, we also have functional katanas in our shop, as well as Tantos and even anime katanas .

Famous People Who Have Used Odachi Katanas

In popular culture, Odachi katanas have been wielded by several memorable characters. Sephiroth, the iconic antagonist of the video game "Final Fantasy VII," is famous for his massive, Odachi-inspired sword. In cinema, Toshiro Mifune's character in several samurai films also uses long swords evoking the power of the Odachi. These depictions underline the majesty and destructive power of these swords.
