As we can see in texts such as the sermons of Saint Vincent Ferrer, parents used to give their children a knife from a very young age. It is a very useful tool for the needs of the time, since it may be necessary to cut something at the table, in the workshop, in the field or even in the event of a terrible disagreement! Based on an illustration from the Tractatus de Ludo Scacorum, this model with a wide, curved blade was quite common between the mid-14th and 15th centuries. An ideal companion for both the peasant and the soldier.
