Many also belong to sagas: if you get hooked on one, there will be more to discover. Get the popcorn ready, turn off the lights, and let yourself be swept away by these films that frighten and fascinate in equal measure. This list is based on statistics and public opinion; it is not in any specific order nor does it reflect a personal assessment. Even so, if you ask me, Eastern horror stands out for its psychological approach, suspense, and tension without grand displays: works like Kairo create an atmosphere that keeps you on edge until the very last second.

The original saga, created by DreamWorks, managed to combine adventure, humor, and a profound message about friendship and acceptance, winning awards and recognition around the world. From its first trailers, this film has delighted animation fans with its fidelity and attention to detail, while also sparking the interest of new audiences with its beautiful landscapes and promising epic story. Now, as its release approaches, anticipation grows ever greater. Release date and production The film, originally scheduled for a March 2025 release, had to be delayed due to strikes affecting the film industry. Universal Pictures confirmed that the official release in Spain will be on June 13, 2025 . A technique used to create digital elements in films. Examples include: fantasy creatures (dragons, monsters, etc.), fire, water, or destruction effects, and entire worlds that don't exist in reality. In the case of How to Train Your Dragon , CGI is used to bring Toothless and other dragons to life, making them appear lifelike and able to interact with the human actors. Faithfulness to the original material and redesign of the dragons The story will maintain the original essence, centering on Hiccup, a young Viking who breaks with the traditions of his tribe by forming a unique bond with a Night Fury dragon. However, for the live-action version, the dragons have been redesigned with an unprecedented level of detail, incorporating realistic textures and more natural movements, thanks to the use of state-of-the-art CGI and motion capture techniques that allow them to interact convincingly with the actors. Dean DeBlois, director and screenwriter, has stated in interviews that respecting the soul of the trilogy was a priority, but that they also wanted to bring a fresh feel to the film to appeal to both old fans and new audiences. Casting information The cast includes emerging and experienced talents who will bring these iconic characters to life. The role of Hiccup will be played by Mason Thames, known for his versatility and charisma in young roles, while actress Nico Parker will take on the role of Astrid, bringing strength and depth to the main female character.
