The first episode of Outlander: Blood of My Blood will premiere on Movistar Plus+ on August 9, 2025, just hours after its US release. Armament of two eras The Outlander series is noted for its historical accuracy, and one of its most notable aspects was the depiction of the weaponry typical of each era, so the same is expected for this prequel to the series. Since it is partly set in the 18th century, the most common firearms are muskets and pistols, and swords, which continue to be used both on the battlefield and for self-defense; therefore, we can expect this season to include: Muskets: Smooth-bore muzzle-loading, they were slow-reloading weapons (about 30 seconds per shot), inaccurate, but very powerful. They were commonly used with bayonets and fired spherical lead bullets. Rifles: With rifled barrels, they offered greater accuracy and range than muskets. They used a smaller caliber and were less common in combination with bayonets. Flintlock pistols: These used a flintlock mechanism and were loaded through the muzzle. They had short range and reloaded slowly. They came in various models, including dueling pistols, pirate pistols, and swivel-barreled pistols, often decorated. Swords and Bladed Weapons: Longswords were common, as were curved sabers, which were preferred by officers. Knives and daggers were also used for both combat and everyday tasks.
