An extreme adventure arrives in theaters
On September 25, 2026, Heart of the Beast will arrive in Spanish theaters courtesy of Paramount Pictures.
The film is directed by David Ayer and stars Brad Pitt, who leads this action and adventure story set in the most remote territories of Alaska.
The project also represents a new Hollywood commitment to survival stories set away from urban landscapes.
With a running time of 101 minutes and a screenplay by Cameron Alexander, whose script previously appeared on the Black List of unproduced screenplays, the technical team features Mauro Fiore as director of photography, while Jared Michael Fry composes the soundtrack.
The story follows James Belmont, a former Special Forces officer, who is traveling with Odin, his retired combat dog, when a plane crash leaves them both in an isolated region and forces the protagonist to embark on a journey back to civilization.
The premise places the two characters in a situation where the skills acquired during their military past may make all the difference.

A shoot marked by extreme conditions
The relationship between Belmont and Odin constitutes one of the film's main dramatic elements, as the animal is not a companion added merely to round out the adventure: both have a shared past and a bond built over years of service, and that connection allows the story to introduce an emotional dimension centered on loyalty and responsibility.
The production sought to convey the harshness of the environment on screen, so Brad Pitt had to face freezing temperatures and sequences filmed in icy rivers during production, conditions that contributed to the film's physical nature.
The film was shot in New Zealand, whose landscapes were used to recreate the wilderness of Alaska.

David Ayer reunites with Brad Pitt
Heart of the Beast marks the reunion of David Ayer and Brad Pitt after Fury, released in 2014.
That production was set during World War II and followed an American tank crew, while the new film shifts the setting completely and focuses the conflict on a man who must survive without the backing of an army.
Ayer has developed a career closely linked to the thriller, crime drama, and action genres, and his work includes well-known films such as Training Day, End of Watch, Suicide Squad, The Beekeeper, and A Working Man. On this occasion, he also serves as a producer alongside Brad Pitt, Marty Bowen, and Olivia Hamilton.
The cast also includes J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe, two names that join Pitt in this Paramount Pictures production.
Before its commercial release, this film will have a prominent presentation in Spain, as it will be screened out of competition at the 2026 San Sebastián Film Festival, which will hold its 74th edition from September 18 to 26. Brad Pitt and David Ayer are scheduled as guests to present it in person; this will mark the actor's return to the festival after his last visit in 2009.
The film seeks to rely on a combination of spectacle, tension, and a central relationship between two characters who share a past history.
The proximity between San Sebastián and the premiere will allow Heart of the Beast to have a special presence in Spain and worldwide during September, as after its appearance at the festival, the film will hit theaters on September 25, with an adventure that tests the endurance of its protagonist and the loyalty of his four-legged companion.
