Jonah Viking Medieval Dress, Various Colors 1280020240

This floor-length medieval dress made of sturdy cotton fabric ( canvas ) has a loose fit and comes with a fabric belt. The colour-contrasting details with the handmade witch stitch embroidery make this dress something special.
The slit neckline is worn open or closed with a fibula. The front and back are made of rectangular lengths of fabric, so-called gers (wedges) are inserted in the middle and on the sides, which gives the hem sufficient width. A gusset (rectangular piece of fabric) is inserted under the arm. The solid canvas fabric makes the dress robust and heavy and is therefore suitable for spring and autumn.

The cut of the dress is based on archaeological finds dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries. Long dresses with cuts that were mainly composed of rectangles and triangles to use as little fabric as possible are typical of this period.
In Skjoldehamn , fragments of Birka and Haithabu were found which clearly show the incision. The dress is therefore an authentic garment for all Vikings.

You must send the item(s) to us using your own means. Freight collect shipments will not be accepted.
