What is a long firearm?

They are firearms with long barrels. The length of these varies from 250 to 760 mm depending on the use of the same.

Guys

There are, in general, three types of this category. These are: long guns, shotguns and rifles.

Parts

This type of weapon consists of 3 main parts, which are: • The action or loading mechanism • The barrel • Metal tube through which the projectile moves.

Advantages and disadvantages

Among the main advantages, we can mention: • They provide the user with greater stability when holding it, compared to short ones. • The barrel of this type of pistol provides a high distance between the front and rear sights, which gives greater precision to the shot. • These have a stock that allows a rifle-type sight much more comfortable than those of a short weapon. Disadvantages: • Due to the length of the barrel, the path of the projectile is slower and therefore the aiming adjustment process is more difficult. • In combat, due to their large size, they are more difficult to hide.
