The appearance and cut of this tunic are based on archaeological finds dating back to the 11th century. However, it is not a one-to-one reproduction.
Nederfrederiksmose Man, also known as Kragelund Man or Fredriksdal Man, was found in 1898 near the town of Kragelund in Denmark.
It was the first bog body to be photographically documented at the site of discovery. It was wearing a tunic, short leather boots and had bare legs.
Our knee-length tunic is made from durable cotton canvas and embellished with ornamental stitching sewn on the front.

So-called gores (wedge-shaped pieces of fabric) inserted into the central front and back panels and into the side seams give the tunic a nice flare from the hip down. The unconventional tailoring of the sleeves is shown in the combination of wide-cut upper arms and regular-cut forearms.
This tunic is ideal for representing the Nordic people.
For an authentic look, we recommend wearing it with a leather belt.

How to find the right size:
To take your body measurements correctly in order to determine your clothing size, always wrap the measuring tape horizontally around your body at the fullest part. For tops, sizes are based on chest circumference.
If you are between two sizes, we recommend going up a size.
Ease is included in the pattern and reflected in the finished measurements.
