Apron dresses were an integral part of the Viking costume. Basically, these overdresses were characterized by their straps and simple tubular shape. Such clothing was provided with slits, with so-called geren (fabric wedges) with pleats and as variants overlapping in the center of the front. The hem ended at the height of the calves.

The Viking Age apron dress (also known as apron skirt, hanging skirt or smokkr ) had two different functions. While the simple variant was worn as an apron to protect the clothing, the decorated variant was more of a status symbol and was provided with borders, embroidery, chains and plate clasps. Our plain slip dress is made from sturdy canvas (100% cotton) and is therefore very robust. It has a loose fit, ties at the side and is kept simple.

The apron dress should be combined with a subtle slip and a belt. With the right accessories, you get a harmonious Nordic costume for a maid or a shieldmaid.

How to find the right size:
To determine your dress size based on your body measurements, measure horizontally at the fullest point. For dresses, use your chest size as a guide.
If you are between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.

We have an after-sales service to resolve any issues that may arise during the shipping of our items or shipments, keeping our customers informed at all times.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your order, you have 14 calendar days from the date of delivery to process your return due to withdrawal.

The right of withdrawal will not apply to products made by hand to order, products modified according to the specifications requested by the buyer or clearly personalized, except for manufacturing defects or errors. The delivery time for products made to order or personalized may take longer than usual depending on the workload at that time.

You can cancel the purchase contract you entered into in our online store by sending an email within the period indicated above.

You must send the item(s) to us using your own means. Freight collect shipments will not be accepted.

The Customer has the right to withdraw from the order within 14 calendar days of receipt. Outside of this period, revocations will not be accepted for orders, nor for orders for the supply of goods made according to the Customer's specifications or clearly personalized, or that, by their nature, cannot be returned or may deteriorate or expire quickly, etc., that have been unsealed and/or used by the Customer. The Customer must notify THE ENTITY of their withdrawal through the Withdrawal Form (Link to the Document) by email, post, or fax, within this 14-day period. The cost of return shipping will be borne by the Customer. The products must be in the same condition as received, with the original packaging, and must not have been used.
