The Hanwei SH1002 Bamboo Katana is a perfect example of how a tradition can adapt and evolve in a changing world. However, in 1876, a decree was issued prohibiting samurai from carrying their swords in public. Defying this ban, Japanese warriors came up with an ingenious solution: the Bamboo Stick Katana.

This bamboo sword cleverly conceals the revered katana blade, but remains a formidable tool in the hands of a skilled warrior. The SH1002 combines a carved bamboo sword scabbard with a handle and blade, hand-forged from 1065 carbon steel and hardened in a clay layer in the traditional manner. This technique ensures the hardness of the edge and the strength of the body of the blade, two essential characteristics of any samurai sword.

The blade of this bamboo katana is particularly impressive, hand-carved and with a real hardness line. The material used for the blade is 1065 carbon steel, a material known for its strength and durability. With an overall length of approximately 99.7 cm, the blade measures approximately 69.2 cm and the handle measures approximately 28.6 cm. Its weight is around 822 g, and its center of gravity is located approximately 14 cm in front of the guard.

The width of the blade at the guard is approximately 2.8 cm, while at the tip it tapers to around 1.9 cm. The thickness of the blade at the guard is around 7 mm, while at the tip it is around 4 mm. The blade also features a Sori, a curvature commonly found on samurai sword blades.

The Customer has the right to withdraw from the order within 14 calendar days of receipt.
