Brown bodices emerged in the late Middle Ages and are still firmly anchored in traditional costume fashion today. They give the upper body the desired shape and are worn both under and over clothing. Unlike corsets, corsets or corsages (also corsets) are less rigid and have greater wearing comfort.
Our lace-up bodice is made from a twill-bound cotton fabric and provided with a thin lining on the inside.
The attached turn-up, which points in the center front, wonderfully emphasizes the waist and forms a beautiful transition to the underlying tunic. The lacing at the front and the partial lacing at the back allow for individual adaptation to your own body. The ends of the laces are provided with nest tips, which makes threading much easier.
If the bodice is combined with a matching blouse, skirt and accessories, the result is a harmonious costume for a maid or a pirate.
